Anthony opened East Hill Cabinetry in 2008 but in reality he was born to design and build things. His father has owned Maucieri Marble and Tile for 30 years and his son has been connected to fine craftsmanship, an old-fashioned work ethic, and a tradition of designing and building something of value for his entire life.
Shortly after graduating from SUNY Albany, Anthony took the bold step of opening his first East Hill Cabinetry in Briarcliff Manor in 2008, just months before the economy collapsed and many businesses, including home remodeling, saw a severe downturn in business.
“It was a challenging time to start a business, that’s for sure,” said Anthony from his new showroom on Central Park Avenue in White Plains. “But from the very outset I knew I had a great work ethic, clear vision and a unique value proposition. I believed in myself and even though things were tough this business grew right away.”
Right away East Hill and Anthony got noticed and was featured in many area shelter magazines.
By 2010 Anthony and East Hill Cabinetry grew a big enough footprint that a brand new Westchester magazine, 914, which is owned by the same media company that publishes Westchester Magazine, named Anthony one its Wunderkinds in its inaugural issue. He was all of 26 years old at the time.
He was also honored by Westchester Magazine in 2011 for 40 under 40. He has won gold sales awards from manufacturers, is a graduate of the Entrepreneurial Excellence Course at WCC/BCW and a board member of the United Way of Westchester Putnam.
But 2013 saw the biggest changes in visibility for Anthony and his company. His work on a kitchen in Rye was recognized as Westchester Magazine Kitchen of the Year, an honor he shared with noted Westchester-based interior designer Susan Marocco.
“It was a great honor to be named ‘Kitchen of the Year,’” said Anthony. “But we consider every kitchen our best work and every client no matter what the price point, gets the same attention to detail.”
Anthony lives in White Plains with his wife, Danielle, a physician assistant, and their dog Blake, a Vizsla. Other than spending time working or with family and friends Anthony has one hobby he will admit to, golf.
